Nachdem bei Dark Horse bereits die Gesamtausgabe des Edena-Zyklus herausgebracht wurde erschien nun ein begleitendes HC-Artbook, welches sich den Hintergründen und der Erstellung der Reihe widmet. Das 28 x 22 cm große Buch mit 208 Farbseiten setzt den Schwerpunkt auf Einzelillustrationen, die oft eine ganze Seite oder sogar eine Doppelseite einnehmen und ist eine wahre Fundgrube für Fans.Das Buch enthält ein Vorwort von Isabelle Giraud, die darauf eingeht wie Moebius auf die Idee zu Edena kam und worum es ihm ging in der Albenreihe. Auf weiteren 23 Seiten wird ergänzend zu Illustrationen tiefer darauf eingegangen, alle anderen Seiten enthalten nur Eizelzeichnungen, Skizzen oder Entwürfe, wobei 95 % fertige Illustrationen sind. Das Buch enthält aber auch Comics von Moebius, als da wären "The Repairmen"(1996, 8 Seiten), "The Planet Once More"(1990, 23 Seiten), "Seeing Naples"(1987, 4 Seiten) und "Dying to see Naples"(2000,15 Seiten) sowie einen unbetitelten Einseiter (2004). Die Hauptreihe Edena entstand aus einem Werbecomic, den Moebius 1983 für Citroen erstellte und wurde von 1984 bis 2001 angefertigt. Es geht hauptsächlich um das Konzept eines Paradieses auf Erden und entsprang zutiefst Moebius Denkweise und subjektiver Wahrnehmung, die Außenwelt auch durch persönliche, innermenschliche Aktionen wie z.B. Meditation beeinflussen zu können. Diesem kann man zustimmen oder nicht, fraglos liegt hier aber ein inspirierender und wunderschöner Bildband vor, der hoffentlich viele Käufer findet.
